Icelandair buys 25 A321XLRs
Civil Aviation Resource Network, April 8, 2023: According to Reuters, Icelandair said on the 7th that it signed a memorandum of understanding to buy 13 Airbus's latest A321XLR single-aisle jets and has another 12 jets. Purchase rights for the aircraft, with deliveries expected to begin in 2029.
Icelandair said it plans to start operating Airbus planes in 2025 and is in advanced talks to lease four A321LRs.
With the acquisition of Airbus Jets, Icelandair will complete the Boeing 757 replacement, the company said in a statement.
